The Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology is one of the sixteen faculties of Jagiellonian University. FBBB is a leading research and teaching institution in Poland well recognized internationally in the field of modern biology. Research conducted at the Faculty includes contemporary biochemical, biophysical and biotechnological aspects of biological objects ranging from the molecular level through the cellular and up to the level of whole animal and plant organisms. Many modern experimental and computational methods are used by researchers of the Faculty in standard and specialized laboratories that are well equipped with modern scientific instruments.Laboratory of Metabolomics has extensive experience in research concerning secondary metabolites of cyanobacteria including metabolome analysis of cyanobacteria and isolation and identification of secondary metabolites synthesized by cyanobacteria, as well as the impact of various abiotic factors on the stability of these secondary metabolites.

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University was established in 1959 as the second classical University in Slovakia. UPJŠ is a research-based university generating its highest level of scientific knowledge through a vibrant community of young researchers in collaboration with their supervisors. The Faculty of Science is the strongest contributor to the research outputs of the university. Their ambition is to provide specialized and highly trained researchers for fundamental scientific research and its application in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Information and Data Science. The Faculty is organized into six Institutes as management sub-units that coordinate research and study within a particular scientific focus.

Faculty of Sciences, RECETOX

RECETOX is a department within Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science, dedicated to environmental and health research and education. Core activities of RECETOX encompass monitoring toxicants in the environment, products, and human tissues, as well as assessing their environmental and health effects and associated risks. RECETOX researchers focus on innovating sampling and analytical methods, developing chemical, biological, biotechnological, and software tools to address emerging challenges at the intersection of environment and health.
This involves collaborating with industry partners to safeguard human health and ecosystems from toxic effects. RECETOX hosts the National Center for Toxic Compounds and the Stockholm Convention Regional Center (SCRC). RECETOX's Research Infrastructure includes core facilities for the analysis of anthropogenic contaminants and natural toxins in various matrices, for long-term environmental and population studies, and development of sophisticated software tools for data management, analysis, interpretation, and visualization.RECETOX offers multidisciplinary education through bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in the fields of environmental health, mathematical biology, and biomedicine.

The Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) is the largest agriculture and life sciences-oriented higher education institution in Hungary, founded in 2021. Its legal predecessor was the Szent István University, which has a long history dating back several decades.The Institute of Aquaculture and Environmental Safety (MATE-AKI) is one of the largest institutes of MATE, which was awarded the title of "Centre of Research Excellence" by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) in 2022. The Institute has an extensive teaching portfolio across the entire higher education curriculum (BSc, MSc and PhD levels) and is also active in adult education (continuing professional development). The existing R&D base and infrastructure provide excellent opportunities for both basic research and applied (industrial) research and experimental development to address practical needs and solve practical problems.
